- Disassembled the shifter assembly. Removed the steering column covers. Inspect the ignition release solenoid at the steering column and the ignition release switch at the shifter assembly. After inspection, technician noticed the ignition release switch, at the shifter assembly, is faulty, causing intermittent power lose to the ignition release solenoid, at the steering column, and preventing the ignition key from being removed from the ignition switch. Since the part is no longer available, technician bypassed the ignition switch assembly. Assembled and verified proper operation.
